This unusual meteorological chart by L. Brault illustrates the direction and intensity of the winds in the South Atlantic during the months of October, November, and December (as indicated above the neatline). It shows most of South America and the southwest coast of Africa, although there is little inland detail aside from some place names, Indians (in South America), and rivers. The ocean is filled with diagrams that represent the force and direction of the wind in autumn. There are extensive explanatory notes in French at bottom right. Engraved by Raynaud.
