This is a handsome and detailed bird's-eye plan of Moscow. The city is situated at the junction of the Moskva and Neglinnaya Rivers, which form a moat protecting all but the northeast flank of the Kremlin. The map shows the Kremlin and old city, Kitay-gorod, at center. These are surrounded by successive rings of fortifications. A key at right locates 17 important sites within the city. Published by T. Cadell in the Strand.


Condition: B

Issued folding on watermarked paper with light offsetting and toning at the top of one fold. Two short edge tears have been closed on verso with archival tape. Several wormholes and worm tracks are visible when held to light. Trimmed almost to the neatline at top.
