A. Decorative Printed Maps of the 15th to 18th Centuries, by R.A. Skelton, published 1952, printed color (9.9 x 12.5"). First edition of this revised edition of Old Decorative Maps and Charts by A.L. Humphreys. Mr. Skelton was the Superintendent of the Map Room at the British Museum when he published this work. 84 images in color and b/w, 80 text pages. Hardbound in red cloth, titled in gilt on spine with a gilt windhead on the front cover. The illustrated dust jacket is protected by a Mylar sleeve. Condition: Text pages are slightly toned, and there is minor toning along the edges of the illustrated pages. There is slight wear to the covers, and the dust jacket has moderate soiling and wear, and a chip out the bottom right corner. (B+)

B. Maps and Prints for Pleasure and Investment, by D.C. Gohm, published 1978, printed color (6.7 x 9.5"). Beautifully illustrated book that provides new collectors of maps and prints a good overview of the subject. 78 illustrations in color and B&W. It features a helpful glossary. 196 pages, plus an index. Hardbound in maroon cloth with a dust jacket. Condition: Contents and covers tight with slight wear to the dust jacket. (A)

C. The Mapmakers, by John Noble Wilford, published 1981, black & white (6.9 x 9.6"). This reference serves as a comprehensive history of the great pioneers in cartography from antiquity to the Space Age. It traces the discoveries and technical ingenuity used in mapping first the surface of the globe, then the earth's interior, the oceans' floors, and finally the moon and the planets. 39 black and white illustrations. Hardbound with an illustrated dust jacket, 414 pp, includes a bibliography and index. Condition: Contents and covers tight with minimal wear to the dust jacket. (A)
