This rarity depicts the Army show planned at the Washington Monument from September 9-26, 1943. The show, which also traveled to Baltimore, Boston and other major cities, was engineered to draw support for government bonds used to support the conflict abroad. The map itself shows the region bounded by 14th Street and Constitution Avenue with numerous demonstrations planned by the Army Air Force, Signal Corps, Army Ground Forces, and a "Miniature Theater of Operation." The map was produced by the Corps of Engineers. The verso contains a short essay from John Steinbeck entitled "The Importance of Supply in Modern Warfare" and an illustration showing the breadth of work of the Corps of Engineers both at home and abroad.

Only one copy per OCLC and one dealer listing in the last 30 years.
