The southwestern part of Switzerland is the focus of this detailed map showing Geneva, Lake Geneva, Lake Neuchatel, Lake Biel, Bern, Freiburg, and Lake Thuner. It is decorated with a strapwork title cartouche and a ship sailing in Lake Geneva. This is Mercator's first map of the region, which was updated in 1636. French text on verso.

A nice impression with full original color, minor color offsetting, and light toning. There is light scattered foxing primarily confined to the blank margins.
