These three maps were included the Senate report related to boundary changes in Yosemite. The changes were necessitated by the large number of private claims occupying the western side of the park. All lithographed by Norris Peters.
A. Yosemite National Park Showing Changes in Boundaries Recommended by Commission Appointed Pursuant to Act of Congress Approved April 28, 1904, printed color (27.0 x 24.2"). Attractive map of the park with considerable detail and color. The limits of the park established by Congress in 1890 are outlined in yellow and the boundaries recommended by the Commission are outlined in orange. Existing roads and trails are marked as well as suggested additions to the park facilities. On a scale of 2 miles per inch.
B. Patented Lands Within the Yosemite National Park California, printed color (28.1 x 24.3"). Color-coded to show the various types of claims present within the existing boundaries of Yosemite including Homestead, Preemption, Timber, Mineral Claims, etc. On a scale of 2 miles per inch.
C. Map and Profile of Wagon Road Through Merced River Canyon from the West Boundary of the Yosemite National Park to the West Boundary of the Yosemite Valley Grant, black & white (17.8 x 14.5"). Map shows both a wagon road and a proposed electric line from the existing boundary of the park to the Yosemite Valley Grant. Includes a profile at bottom showing the dramatic elevation change in the region. On a scale of approximately 1 mile per inch.
