This detailed bird's-eye view of Augsburg is a nearly identical copy of Paolo de Forlani's view, which itself is very similar to Braun & Hogenberg's view. The key differences are the cartouche at bottom right and the embellished coat of arms at top left. Nearly 100 locations are identified on the map with a numbered key in a strapwork cartouche at bottom left. The coat of arms of Augsburg appears at top left, adjacent to the ribbon-style title cartouche. The view was engraved by Ambrosio Brambilla and originally published by Claudio Duchetti. This example was published in a composite edition of Braun & Hogenberg's Civitates Orbis Terrarum with French manuscript text on verso.

A nice impression with attractive color on watermarked paper, minor soiling, and light show-through of manuscript text on verso.
