"Tabula Cananae ae Prout Tempore Christi et Apostolorum Divisa Suit", Hondius/Bertius

Handsome small map of Canaan divided as in the time of Jesus Christ and his Apostles, oriented with west at top. The map extends from Sidon to Anthedon and inland to Philadelphia. Sodom and Gomorrha are located in the Dead Sea. The sea is decorated with a scene of Jonah and the whale. Embellished with a strapwork title cartouche that incorporates the distance scale. French text on verso.
