A. Liverpool Reduced by Consent from Gage's Plan, by SDUK Society for the Diffusion of Useful Knowledge, dated 1836, hand color (15.2 x 11.7"). This graphic, steel engraved city plan shows the streets, major buildings, docks, and parks of Liverpool. At top are three vignettes in scroll-like frames: View of Liverpool in the Year 1729, The Black Rock Lighthouse, and Plan of Liverpool in the Year 1729. At bottom are architectural elevations of the major buildings and churches. Printed, reduced, and engraved by T. Starling. Condition: Light toning, mostly confined to the blank margins.

B. [On 2 Sheets] Plan of Liverpool, by G.W. Bacon & Company, from Atlas of the British Isles..., circa 1886, hand color (19.4 x 12.7"). This detailed plan depicts the wards, streets, and sites of interest in Liverpool on two sheets. An index running along the left and right sides of both sheets helps with locating streets. Condition: There is a short centerfold separation at top on the north sheet and an edge tear that enters less than 1" into the index at right on the south sheet, both of which have been closed with archival tape on verso.

C. Liverpool, by John Bartholomew, from Royal Atlas of England & Wales, circa 1899, printed color (16.7 x 12.7"). This comprehensive plan shows Liverpool at the turn of the century. Streets, docks, railways, tramways, gardens, parks, cemeteries, and various buildings of import are located. The proposed site of the Liverpool Cathedral, the fifth largest cathedral in the world, is noted. Condition: On a sturdy sheet with a short centerfold separation in the top blank margin.
