This fascinating copper engraved chart details the entrance to New York Harbor. The city is shown as a tiny village with a fort. Other settlements located include Neversink, Gravesend, Newark, Woodbridge, and Ambois. Soundings, anchorages, and hazards are located. The map also features a delicately engraved rococo-style title cartouche and a fleur-de-lis on rhumb lines.
