This copper engraving is from Calmet's encyclopaedic dictionary on all aspects of the history, geography and culture of the Bible and Biblical times. The engraving presents a bird's-eye plan of Nineveh (in present-day Iraq), as described by Diodorus Siculus and Kircherus. Five locations are lettered and identified with a key at top right.
