This attractive copper engraving shows a bird’s eye view of the fortified city of Ancient Rome with the Tiber river flowing through its walls. The plan shows numerous buildings, churches, monuments, and theaters with a large key at bottom naming 196 different locations. North is oriented to the left. Derived from earlier works by Braun & Hogenberg and Jodocus Hondius.
