A nice example of Ortelius' first map of Silesia. It is based on a map by the Silesien cartographer Martin Helweg in 1561, and is beautifully engraved with large forests, mountain ranges, and a strapwork title cartouche and coat of arms. Wroclaw (Breslaw) is located at about the center of the map. Published in the first Dutch edition in 1573.

Original color on watermarked paper with wide, original margins and a couple of tiny abrasions at center. There are damp stains in blank margins, far from image, with resulting paper weakness in bottom corners and a short tear in bottom right corner.
