Fine map of European Russia on two sheets based on the work of Guillaume Delisle. The first sheet focuses on the region south of the White Sea and includes St. Petersburg, Arkhangelsk, and Vologda. The decorative title cartouche features a hunter, sleigh and various animals. The southern portion includes Moscow and extends south to the Ukraine. Both maps are densely engraved to show the mountains, rivers, lakes, swamps and forests, as well as roads and towns.


Condition: B

Both sheets are on watermarked paper with light toning along centerfold. The northern sheet has some minor paper repairs along centerfold and a crease adjacent to centerfold with a 1" separation at top, as well as a few short tears that just enter map border at top that have been closed on verso with archival materials. The southern sheet has short centerfold separations, a few tiny tears along centerfold, and one tiny hole in an unengraved area of map at left.
