These six volumes comprise the complete set of The History of Cartography series published to date, which is considered an essential work referencing the history of cartographic refinement and is a terrific source of expert knowledge. The series is organized by region and time period, and takes into consideration the context of the societies that made and used the maps discussed. Each one is extensively illustrated with color and black and white reproductions that show examples of each discussion in tremendous detail. Edited by J.B. Harley and David Woodward.
