This is the revised edition from 1860 containing 20 single-page maps. It includes a very nice Commercial Map of the United States Showing the Principal Connecting Lines of Railroad Across the Country... showing proposed and existing railroads. The index to the maps includes the insets in the total count, bringing the number of maps to 27, including 2 of the whole U.S., and 4 regional U.S. maps. The Eastern and Western Hemisphere maps are decorated with nicely engraved vignettes. The text pages are illustrated with numerous diagrams, tables and vignettes. In the back of this book are a map-making treatise, a pronunciation vocabulary and tables that show population and the characteristics of the geographical features of earth. Complete with original illustrated, paper covered boards.

Condition: B+

Maps are very good to fine. A few text pages have some irregular toning. Endpapers and inside of covers with some foxing. Covers a bit soiled and worn along edges. Binding is sound, spine with a small amount of loss from cracking.
