1) Gouvernement General de Bretagne sive Ducatus Britanniae Minoris… , Seutter, 1740 (22.8 x 19.4"). This splendid map of Brittany is filled with information including the fortified city, towns and even the tiniest villages. The roads are clearly marked, as are the forests, swamps, marshes, and rivers. It is beautifully adorned with a pictorial title cartouche, elaborate key cartouche and sailing ships. Original color and a nice impression. There is some faint printer's ink residue, else fine. (A)
2) Duche et Gouvernement General de Bretagne Divise en Haut…, Frederick de Witt/Covens & Mortier, (23.7 x 19.2"). This fine map covers the same region and contains the same information as Seutter's map. However, it is presented in a more restrained style with an allegorical title cartouche. Original color with a nice impression. There is some offsetting in the map and a clean fold separation that enters 1.5" into the map and some damp stains in margins. (B)
