2) The Mapmakers' Quest, by David Buisseret and published in 2003 by Oxford University Press (9.5" x 6.5"). From the dust jacket, "In 1400 Europe was almost entirely without maps, but by 1600 had witnessed an explosion of cartography that was to change the course of European history.
