This lot contains leaves from important English printers of the 16th century:

1) 1578, Gerard Dewes (printed by Henry Loe of Antwerp), from Rembert Dodoens' A Niewe Herball, with a fine woodcut historiated initial and botanical illustrations. (7.5 x 11.5")
2) 1568, Arnold Birckman and William Turner, Herball, with a woodcut botanical illustration. (7.8 x 11.5")
3) 1554, Robert Caly, from Thomas Martin's A traictise declaryng and plainly prouyng, that the pretensed marriage of priestes, and professed persones, is no mariage, but altogether unlawful. (5 x 7")
4) 1549, John Day and William Seres, from The Holy Bible, Matthew version. (7.8 x 12")
5) 1545, Richard Kele, fromChaucer's Works (7.8 x 11")
6) 1530, Richard Faques, from Myrrour of Our Lady (7 x 9.5")
