This beautifully engraved chart covers the southern most portion of Calabria with just the tip of Sicily shown. It is adorned with a decorative cartouche with the Calabrian coat of arms and two allegorical female figures holding horns of plenty. It is also embellished with two compass roses, a sea monster and several ships including a battle between a man-o-war and two galley ships. Latin text on verso.

Superb original color, heightened with gold and wide original margins. There is a tiny worm hole in the bottom border, still a very fine example that is archivally encapsulated in a Mylar sleeve.
