Attractive map depicting the Spanish possessions in North America extending into present day New Mexico. Texas appears within the province of "San Luis Potosi." An interesting and confusing lake and river system occupies present day Utah. In the Valle Salado is a lake with the "Western Limits…are unknown." Political divisions are delineated by color. Many Indian tribes and villages are named, with roads, topography and watershed also shown.

A light area of damp staining in lower right margin, one spot in map, still very good. Full margins on thick paper with lovely original color. This early impression is very crisp and dark with some layout lines still visible under text.
