This terrific example of an unusual desk globe is constructed from twelve coated paper gores, and has a half steel meridian in gold. Supported on a brown metal rectangular base with a built-in slot for storing a small atlas, which is missing. Includes the original time dial at the North Pole. There is a legend that shows the keys for city populations, existing and proposed air travel routes, steamship lanes, railways, roads, canals and swamps. The globe shows Isreal but in Africa Ghana is still the Gold Coast so the globe is circa 1948 - 1957. A fine example.
