This great engraving is from one of Van Keulen's important sea atlases. At the heart of the scene is a large globe with a group of cartographers and mariners gathered around it. In addition to the globe, they are consulting an atlas, sea chart, and scientific instruments. Mythical figures and putti reside in the clouds above the scene. The text below credits Johannes van Keulen, a sea chart and instrument maker.
