An interesting and uncommon pair of maps showing the regions near Genoa and Parma that were affected during the War of the Austrian Succession (1740-48) on sheets of German text, overall size (22 x 17.5"). The text recounts the victory of Austrian military leader Maximilian Ulysses, Reichsgraf von Browne.
1) Historia Belli in Italia 1746… shows the area from Pavia to Genoa ( 12.5 x 15").
2) Ordre de Bataille de Corps d'Armee… depicts the region including Mantola, Parma and Modena on either side of the River Po, inset with a map of the battleground and fortifications at Guastacalla (11.5 x 15").

Original color on sound sheets with good impressions and a couple of small spots in the maps. The text has some damp staining, with a stain just touching the border on map 2. The blank bottom margins of both maps have worm tracks.
