This is a beautiful pocket bird's-eye view of the picturesque region extending from Casco Bay in Portland, Maine, inland to Sebago Lake, with New Hampshire's Mt. Washington and the Crawford Notch in the distance. The vista extends to Lewiston, Harpswell, Freeport, and Gorham among the many communities shown. The routes between the islands that the Casco Bay ships ran at that time are noted. Casco Bay Lines ferry services are still active in that area. This attractive view folds into original blue paper covers (4" x 7") and was published for the Chisholm Brothers at Union Station in Portland. The pocket view was found with a related brochure "Casco Bay Scenic Sails in Vacation Land from the Custom House Wharf, Portland, Maine." This brochure (3.5" x 15") is illustrated with the steamship on the cover and a map of the route. It describes the trip with times and gives much history and information on the region. Published by the Casco Bay Lines. A uncommon pocket view with related brochure.
