This large, finely engraved map on two joined sheets describes the continent of Asia in great detail. The Philippines, Ladrones, and the rest of Indonesia are shown with a great amount of information, and a part of the coast of Australia is noted in the lower right. Japan is dwarfed by the huge Land of Yedso (Hokkaido) above it, with a note as follows: It is not known whether the country of Yedso be join'd to Japan or not. The coastline of the Land of Compagnia is noted nearby. To the left of China, the fictitious Chamay Lake is named. The map is dedicated to Sr. George Markham, Baronet in the upper right, and the title cartouche is surrounded with classical figures.

References: Yeo #111.

A dark impression with original outline color and some minor stains at the lower right. Paper has been added to the upper and lower margins to extend them. In the lower margin the paper is also reinforcing some tears and loss, with a portion of the neatline reinstated in facsimile. There are a few tiny, insignificant wormholes.
