A strongly engraved map of France that extends to a portion of Italy and Switzerland with a bit of England and Wales at the top of the map. It is filled with detail of towns, roads and topography, and a trio of ships sail in the northern waters. A spectacular cartouche is surrounded by a female allegory of France, Mercury and Neptune. The royal crest of France is supported by charming putti at the upper right. A very engaging map.
