A pair of attractive maps that detail the ancient divisions of Germany and Greece.
1) Germania Antiqua... is a map of the lands of Switzerland, Austria, Poland, Germany, Belgium and the Czech Republic as they were in Roman times. A delicately engraved cartouche adorns the map. (15.7 x 12")
2) Graecia Antiqua is a lovely map of ancient Greece, filled with engraved place names and inset with a map of the northern portion, reaching further into Macedonia, Thrace, and Dardania. (12.1 x 15.7)"
Map 1, good impression on a sturdy sheet. The centerfold is toned with two small wormholes, and the original color has been applied with a smudged area. Map 2, nice impression on a sturdy sheet with original color. A couple damp stains, one just entering the map on the left centerfold, the others confined to the margins.
