This unusual woodblock map of Asia portrays rudimentary cartography and several large islands that represent the East Indies. The interior is filled with mountains, huge Black and Caspian Seas, and a few places signified by large castles. The eastern coastline is truncated without a Korean Peninsula. A fierce sea monster is shown in the Arctic Ocean and a tiny boat sails the Indian Ocean. Rosaccio's maps were printed from two separate blocks and were often printed on two separate sheets - this example is printed on a single sheet only.
