A remarkable set of thematic maps published to detail the deaths in each square block over the previous year. Each is on an identical base map with blue and red overprinted information unique to each. 1) No. I. Map of the City of Washington Location of deaths for the Year Ending June 30, 1891. Deaths of "white" and "colored" shown in different colors. Sheet shows much detail along the Mall and the beginning of subdivisions in the open spaces to the north. 2) No. II. Map of the City of Washington Showing Location of Fatal Cases of Zymotic Diseases. Color and symbols are used to indicate deaths by Typhoid Fever, Malarial Fever, Scarlet Fever, Diphtheria, or Diarrheal Diseases. 3) No. III. Map of the City of Washington Showing Location of Fatal Cases of Lung Diseases. "White" and "colored" deaths differentiated by color and further by deaths due to Consumption, or due to Pneumonia, Bronchitis and other acute lung diseases. A most interesting and historical set of thematic maps.
