A fine decorative map of Brazil with north oriented to the right. Two insets reveal Dutch interest in the area (Baja de Todos los Sanctos & Pernambuco). The interior is largely blank and features scenes of native life including warfare and cannibalism. Sailing ships, fine compass rose and two decorative cartouches grace the sea. Jansson's imprint has replaced that of Hondius. Latin text on verso.
