This obscure map provides remarkable detail throughout the East Indies. Three large insets detail other Dutch colonies in the West Indies, South America and Africa: 1) De Caraibische Eilanden Iles; 2) De Kolonie Surinamen Zuid-Amerika; and 3) Carte de la Cote d'Or sur la Cote de la Haute Guinee. Desterecq was the director of the Establissement Geographique de F. Desterecq in The Hague.
