This is a splendid example of Hondius' engraving. The map covers all of northern Asia from Moscow to the Anian Fretum and Americae Pars. Korea is shown as an island. Illustrations include the Great Wall in China, rivers, villages, mountains etc. The newly discovered Nova Zembla and mythological Lands of Gog and Magog are shown in the Arctic region. Beautifully decorated with costumed people, a camp scene and three large strapwork cartouches. Latin text on verso.

Faint damp stain entering map along top centerfold, else very good with a fine impression and lovely original color.
