This is a very uncommon historical map of the region from Asia Minor and Egypt through Arabia and Iran. Decorated with a title cartouche and portrait of Darius Histaspis, King of Persia. Pierre Moullard inherited the copper plates of his grandfather, Nicolas Sanson, and added the Sanson suffix to his name to publish maps. His business was not successful, therefore his maps are very scarce.
