Large decorative map featuring the Island of California with only an engraved line of Terra Esonis hinting at a landmass stretching northwestward toward Asia. The interior is densely engraved with mountains, forests, place names and Indian tribes. The large (uncolored) title cartouche features a native queen with a feather headdress, surrounded by native flora and fauna, receiving a kneeling subject. The cartography of the map is very close to Allard's map of 1700 and the cartouche is nearly identical.
