Nice set of copper engravings depicting birds discovered during La Perouse's exploration of the West Coast. 1. "Perdrix, Male et Femele, de la Californie" is a very desirable image of a pair of California Quail. 2. "Merle du Port des Francais" depicts a native blackbird of the Northwest. 3. "Promerops de la Californie Septentrionale" pictures a California bird with a long curved beak and long tail.
