Three copper engravings illustrating early explorations. 1. A scene from Christopher Columbus' third voyage in 1498 showing an Indian of Trinidad bartering his golden crown for the velvet bonnet of Columbus. 2. A scene from the voyage made by Alonso d'Ojeda and Americo Vespucci in 1499 showing a battle with the Indians of Terre Ferme. 3. Another scene from the D'Ojeda/Vespucci voyage depicting D'Ojeda attending an Indian funeral. Size varies slightly.
