Very lovely map of the northern and central portion of the continent. The source of the Nile, on the Ptolemaic model, begins from the lakes Zaire and Zaflan, near the Mountains of the Moon. Two decorative cartouches and eight Roman seals at left. Very uncommon and seldom seen map that deserves more attention. Blankaart was a professor at Leyden who created maps for Jansson.
