Attractive map based on the earlier model of Charlevoix. Focused on Honshu, Shikoku and Kyushu with fine detail. Locates Jedo and scores of other cities and villages, islands, lakes, mountains, etc. Several notes concerning the recently discovered islands, colonial details, etc. Large and attractive cartouche with Samari and Geisha. Among the best English maps of Japan issued in the mid-18th Century.
