"L'Italie Divisee en tous ses Etats…", Brion de la Tour/Desnos

A very decorative map of Italy that extends to include Corsica and Sardinia with an inset of Malta. The map (10 x 9.2") includes a decorative title cartouche and is flanked by two columns of French text and surrounded by a wide rococo-style frame with students studying geography and cartographic instruments. The map and decorative border were printed from two separate plates with the text on glued down sheets, as issued. Map fully colored, cartouche and decorative border uncolored, as issued.

Crisp, dark impression. Lightly toned on fold, else very good. Small chip in blank margin outside of plate mark.
