Outstanding panoramic view depicting a decisive battle in what was known as the Bloody Deluge in Polish history. It depicts the siege of the Pomeranian capital of Stettin (Szczecin) in November 1659 in which the Poles recaptured the city from the occupying Swedes. Armies engaged in battle surround the heavily fortified city and the sky is filled with bursting bombs. A cavalry in the foreground is shown galloping to join the battle. Richly ornamented with elaborate cartouches and decorative borders.
