Dutch derivative of Sanson's smaller version of Le Canada, ou Nouvelle France, &c…, engraved by Anthony de Winter. The Great Lakes are based on Jesuit sources with Lake Superior and Lake Michigan open-ended in the west. The map covers from Virginia to Labrador with the British colonies confined along the eastern seaboard. Good detail of Indian tribal names and locations, again based on Jesuit information. Large strapwork title cartouche.
