Pair of interesting and important maps in the history of Canadian cartography. Hearne's epic journey put a final end to all disputes concerning a Northwest Passage through Hudson's Bay. First is a general map (14.5 x 10.2") showing his travels in the Barren grounds and the discovery of the Coppermine River. Second (13.5 x 10.5") is an interesting little chart showing the mouth of the river with Albany Fort, the Old Factory, Sawpit Island, etc. A notation below the title provides visual navigation aids. Both from the second, Dublin edition.
