"[Lot of 2] Alsatia Superior cu Suntgoia & Brisgoia [and] Alsatia Superior", Mercator

This pair of finely engraved maps of the Alsace region were published in different editions of the Atlas Minor. The maps are oriented with north to the right and follow the course of the Rhine River from Basel to Strasburg. Simple title cartouches decorate each map.

A. Alsatia Superior cu Suntgoia & Brisgoia, by Mercator/Jansson, from Atlas Minor, published 1628, hand color (7.6 x 5.6"). Latin text on verso.

B. Alsatia Superior, by Mercator/Hondius, from Historia Mundi or Mercators Atlas..., circa 1635, black & white (6.9 x 5.3"). English text on verso.
