Handsome and very detailed map of Central Europe depicting the Holy Roman Empire. At the height of the empire it contained most of the territory of today's Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Czech Republic, Slovenia, as well as eastern France, northern Italy and western Poland. The title cartouche features putti, a queen, and a portrait of Joseph I, Holy Roman Emperor, with his Latin motto for "with love and fear." Another cartouche lists the key regions in the Holy Roman Empire and features a river god and the arms of the Empire.
