This disbound report includes a series of eight thematic infrastructure maps identifying the problems associated with poor sewerage in Washington in 1890 and proposed solutions. The first five maps examine deaths as a result of these unsanitary conditions, “box privies” (self-contained toilets), water pumps, and more. Additional maps and charts show the current status of sewerage and proposals for improvement. Maps accompany the document “Mr. Procter…submitted the following Report...to provide for continuing the system of trunk sewers in the District of Columbia.” 113 pages, disbound.
