An invaluable resource for collectors and dealers, this highly informative lot of four volumes contains biographical information, illustrations, and references to complement an extensive list of mapmakers. Edited by Josephine French, with consulting editors Valerie Scott and Mary Alice Lowenthal and picture research also by Scott. Edition A - D contains 408 pages; edition E - J has 462 pages; edition K - P has 472 pages; edition Q-Z has 436 pages. Hardbound in red cloth with gilt titles on front covers and spines. Complete with decorative dust jackets. The lot also includes the supplement to Tooley's original publication, adding 4,000 new entries submitted by collectors and researchers. 116 pages. Hardbound in green cloth with gilt decoration on cover, gilt title on spine, and a dust jacket.

Condition: A

Contents are near fine with minor soiling along the edges of the text blocks of the main four volumes. Covers have just a hint of soiling and shelf wear. Dust jackets are lightly soiled with chipped corners.
