This graphic map of the Alsace region dramatically follows the course of the Rhine River from Basel and Lauffenburg north to Philipsburg, and shows Strasburg, Colmar, Friberg, and Rotweil. In the decorative cartouche, allegorical figures, including Mercury and a River God, display the Alsatian coat of arms.
