This vibrant map of the world was created by Eymonnet for Panair do Brasil, the largest airline in Latin America from 1945-65. It is roughly centered on Europe and the "Old World," extending to both North and South America in the west. Panair’s routes are shown in red overprinting, connecting Brazil to points in both Africa (Dakar and Cairo) and Europe (Lisbon, Paris, Rome, and more). No flights are shown yet to North America, where a menacing-looking sea monster patrols the Atlantic Ocean. The continents are richly illustrated with wildlife, natives, and points of interest including the Eiffel Tower and Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro. The map is further embellished by three compass roses, a sailing ship, and gold accents throughout.
