Great early puzzle containing four maps, printed back to back. "Mappa-Monde sur la Projection de Mercator" shows the continents and islands of the world with notations of 19th century explorations such as Wilkes and Graham in the Antarctic. "Europe Centrale" shows the region's political divisions and extensive railroad system. A color key shows the states of the Empire of Germany. "Belguique & Pays-Bas" is a detailed map of the Belgium and The Netherlands. "France Politique" is a detailed map of France divided into departments. The maps are from the Atlas Populaire. The puzzle is constructed from paper covered board pieces with a different map on each side and cut into square pieces. Complete with original wooden box with a sliding cover onto which the map of Europe is pasted. It also includes a loose sheet map of the world. Published by B. Eberhardt & L. Trautman.
